{"id":40,"date":"2014-08-13T19:50:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-13T23:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cmhughesmd.com\/?p=40"},"modified":"2014-08-13T19:50:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-13T23:50:00","slug":"non-profit-hospital-ceos-compensation-rises-again-modern-healthcare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.cmhughesmd.com\/?p=40","title":{"rendered":"Non-profit hospital CEOs&#8217; compensation rises again | Modern Healthcare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The hutzpah is amazing!<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Despite the ongoing public ire aimed at executives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.modernhealthcare.com\/section\/articles?tagID=934\">not-for-profit<\/a> healthcare systems because of their multimillion-dollar pay packages, their salaries and total cash <a href=\"http:\/\/www.modernhealthcare.com\/section\/articles?tagID=31\">compensation<\/a> continued to rise at a far faster clip than average worker salaries in 2012\u2014the most recent year with full data available.      <br \/>Boards and compensation consultants continue to cite market forces\u2014the need to keep up with peers to hold onto skilled healthcare leaders\u2014as the main reason for the increases.      <br \/>Total cash compensation grew an average of 24.2% from 2011 to 2012 for the 147 chief executives included in Modern Healthcare&#8217;s analysis of the most recent public information available for not-for-profit compensation.
