Numbers in thousands. ]<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_OVgNOPabK8A\/SAzxopZ4s6I\/AAAAAAAAASE\/yXCYDo7X98s\/s1600-h\/word+table.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5191790151062827938\" style=\"FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 487px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 128px\" height=\"113\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_OVgNOPabK8A\/SAzxopZ4s6I\/AAAAAAAAASE\/yXCYDo7X98s\/s320\/word+table.jpg\" width=\"575\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>I always get confused when I hear people talking about middle income families\/households, and it alwasy seems to me that if you are in the DC or other elite groups, $100K or even $200K puts you squarely in the middle class.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see by the table (if you can&#8217;t read it, follow the <a href=\"http:\/\/pubdb3.census.gov\/macro\/032007\/hhinc\/new05_000.htm\">link to the Census Bureau<\/a>), the true middle, is between $37K and $60K for the true middle quintile and between $20K and $97K for the 3\/5 in the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Now, just to follow up on something I heard McCain (and the usual propogandists agains National Health Insurance systems of any kind) say is that you&#8217;ll be taxed to death. Now, if you are in the middle 3\/5, and you are paying, for argument&#8217;s sake, $12K for healthcare (either out of your wages or paying it yourself), how, again, do you lose by adopting a single payer or <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/gst\/fullpage.html?res=980CE1D91330F930A15752C0A965958260&amp;sec=&amp;spon=&amp;pagewanted=2\"><em>Bismarck style insurance <\/em><\/a><em>plan?<\/p>\n<p>And I guess I learned something from <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/wgbh\/pages\/frontline\/sickaroundtheworld\/interviews\/reinhardt.html\"><em>Frontline and Uwe Reinhardt<\/em><\/a><em>: I have to add <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.euro.who.int\/observatory\/Glossary\/TopPage?phrase=Bismarckian%20system\"><em>&#8220;Bismarckian Insurance Plan<\/em><\/a><em>,&#8221; to my categories\/tags.<\/p>\n<p>Cheers,<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Household Income-2005&#8211;Part 1:&#8220;Table HINC-05.
